왕칸나는 자연과 인간, 섹스과 젠더, 자연과 인공, 우리와 타인 등과 같은
이중적인 관계에 경계와 권력 역동성에 관심을 두고 이에 대한 시각적
코멘터리를 만든다. 이 코멘터리는 작가의 모국인 키르기스스탄의 전통과
시각적 문화, 고대 신화와 설화, 근대 미디어에서 받은 영감에서 이뤄지는
상상의 시각화된 결과물이자 시각적 기록이다.
Nature and humanity, gender and sex, natural and artificial, us and
others. King Kanna’s works are based on the tradition and visual
culture of Kyrgyzstan, leaving which and settling abroad made her
especially keen on such relationships. Her images are born from these
dual relationships as visual commentary on their power dynamics and
patterns.
